ABSTRACT

Chinese historic buildings form their own unique system in the design, construction and other aspects. With extremely high historical, cultural and artistic value, they are precious historical and cultural heritage in Chinese architectural history. They are also outstanding representative of oriental architecture, and play a very important role in the world architecture history. However, many historic buildings have hundreds or even thousands of years of history from their building till now, and they have experienced numerous natural and human effects. Some of them are still intact, while also some of them have been severely damaged, with the structural safety being affected, and even some have been completely destroyed and no longer exist. Therefore, in order to make long-term and effective protection for ancient architectures, it is of great significance to study their mechanical properties and stabilization mechanism.
