ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Zn, Cu, Pb, Cr and Cd of the water samples which collected from upstream to downstream of Taizihe River were detected. The results indicated that the mean concentrations of Zn, Cu and Cr were at the permissible levels, but Pb and Cd exceeded the fifth level standard at some sites. The highest concentrations of Cd and Pb were found at Guchengzi and Lanhe Bridge, respectively. The water in the middle and downstream has been polluted relatively heavy, and the upstream showed good water quality. However, the personal annual risks of Cu, Pb and Cr were greater than the recommended maximum acceptable value by ICRP. The average concentration of personal annual risk to health was between 10−5 mg/L and 10−3 mg/L. On the whole, the health risks of metal levels from downstream sites were higher than that from the upstream sites, and Jiaxinzi (site 23) has the highest risk among all the sample sites.
