ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The sludge bio-drying using its own biomass by microbial fermentation of aerobic sludge heat to evaporate water, and the resulting dried sludge has lower moisture content. The moisture in sludge is divided into free water, interstitial water, surface water and bound water, in which the most difficulty is to remove bound water. Therefore, this paper primarily focuses on the research of the mechanism of removing the moisture in the bio-drying, especially discussing the mechanism of the removal of bound water that exists in the sludge zoogloea and the bacteria in vitro, which expects that in the bio-drying process cause microbial heat production, microbial growth and consumption, the bound water in zoogloea may discharge through the squeeze effect, diffusion, consumption and other effects interaction react. It also obtained the changes of the water in the various stages in the bio-drying reactor.
