ABSTRACT

Conventional location problems of monitoring sites focused on the influence of the pollutant concentration, while neglecting the importance of other factors such as economic factor and social factor. This paper establishes a multi-objective model combining environmental, economic, and social factors to optimize air quality monitoring sites. Due to the different degree of importance of each factor, fuzzy-AHP with Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (TFNs) was used to calculate the weights for environmental, economic, and social factors. The multi-objective model for optimizing air quality monitoring sites established was applied to Nanjing Xian-lin region as a case study.
