This paper uses the guideline as the analysis procedure and use the simple model, plates, to further investigate the ultimate strength behaviors under combined loads. The paper mainly focuses on the study of the effects of initial imperfection shapes on the ultimate strength of plates under combined longitudinal and transverse loads. It is also the purpose of the present paper to demonstrate the importance of the initial imperfection shapes and provide a guideline on the analysis technique for discussions.
