ABSTRACT

Since the voltage of a single Ni/MH cell is quite low, in order to provide sufficient power for electric vehicles, it is necessary to place hundreds of batteries both in serial and in parallel connection to form a battery pack. Besides, the security, stability and cycle life of the battery pack are major considerations during operations. Considering that the temperature has an extremely adverse impact on the battery charge and discharge efficiency, as well as the battery capacity and its security, thus analyzing the temperature distribution in battery pack is of great importance.
