ABSTRACT

Now the process industry automated control instrument and system is evolving to be digital, intelligent, networking and integrated, especially the application of the data communication network technology in the industry automation area accelerates plant and workshop automation progress including large power plants. The data collection, process control and production automated network system is transferring from analog to digitalization. The network system is evolving from 4-20 mA analog control to digital control and present fast Ethernet-based automated control (Luo, Pan, 2003). The DCS system of the power plant is fused with the information technology. As the main network architecture of the plant system, the Industrial Ethernet Technology including TCP/IP and etc. has become the main DCS real-time control network today. The DCS real-time communication network is the bridge connecting the controllers and operation stations and acts as the nerve center system of the DCS. A huge amount of monitoring and control data are transported via the real-time network, including process information and control commands to operators, which shared the information between all kinds of controllers.
