ABSTRACT

Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) is a colourless sulphuric compound and produced naturally during the reduction of sulfate and sulfur-containing organic compounds by anaerobic bacteria treatment of wastewater and effluent in some industries such as paper and sour products or in petropetro chemical and natural gas refineries (Mojarrad Moghanloo et al. 2010). Since this gas is hazardous to human and animal health, there are strict regulations to control and eliminate the emission of this toxic compound from wastewater treatment plants and other emission sources (Mojarrad Moghanloo et al. 2010, Son et al. 2005).
