ABSTRACT

Architectural construction takes up to 40% of waste in general, as the world is entering a low-carbon phase and China is falling behind. Many developed countries like the United States, Germany, and the UK started their industrial renovation long before China. They left us many successful cases to study from such as one of the earliest industrial redevelopment in the USA, the Stanley Home Products Factory in Easthampton MA, USA in 1997; Old Portland’s of Wismar in Germany, 2001; Talkback Media London 2001. The building recycle trend is coming to China, like 798 art district of Beijing, and Shanghai Red District renovation. However China’s project seemed quite dull.
