ABSTRACT
Current drag is one of the main hydrodynamic forces acting on offshore structures. For FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel or semi-submersible mooring systems, the design limiting sea states for vessel offset and mooring tension are strongly dependent on the drag force on the vessel. The calculation of current drag is therefore of great importance to the accurate numerical prediction of the performance of mooring systems.
