ABSTRACT

The Polish boats were tested by Ship Design and Research Centre (the CTO) in Gdańsk (Duda & Litwin, 2007). Hence it was decided to use a more modern canoe hull. The designed structural frame was computationally controlled by using the Finite Element Method. Special attention was given to the highly loaded pipe connecting both hulls in the bow part of the catamaran. It transferred wavegenerated loads and torque and bending due to azimuthing propeller thrust.
