ABSTRACT
Wu’an city is in the south part of Hebei province, and it is the only country level city within Handan City. Wu’an lies between longitude 113°45′∼ 114°22′30″E and latitude 36°28′∼37°01′N, with a surface area of 1881 km. Wu’an is rich in natural resources, especially for coal and iron mines. These natural resources have been playing a great role in Wu’an’s economical development. However, a lot of wasted rocks and residues are generated and abandoned during the mining process, which destroys the geomorphologic landscape together with forest and land. Some part has even been collapsed, which results in severe environmental problems.
