On the hydro-mechanical behavior of unsaturated soils in railway sub-structures

To investigate the sensitivity of the mechanical behaviour of interlayer to changes in water content, it is important to identify its hydraulic behaviour because this latter governs water infiltration and, to some extent, water runoff on the interface between ballast and interlayer. This investigation must cover the natural interlayer soil (Duong et al. 2013a) as well as the interlayer soils of different fines contents (Duong et al. 2013b).
