ABSTRACT
The original meaning of ‘Excellence’ is a talent or quality which is unusually good and so surpasses ordinary standards. ‘Excellence Engineers Cultivation Program’ (abbreviate to ‘Excellence Program’) is to carry out major innovation issue of <National Planning Outline of Education Innovation and Development for Medium and Long term (2010-2020)> and <National Planning Outline of Talent Development for Medium and Long term (2010-2020)>. On 23rd June 2010, Ministry of Education convened Kickoff Meeting of ‘Excellence Engineers Cultivation Program’ in Tianjin, and has associated with relevant departments and industry associations to implement the program jointly. After that, Zhejiang University drew up an ‘Excellence Engineers Cultivation Program’ implement plan (trial implementation) of Information and Communication Engineering Major, and has turned out to be a model of others’ universities in China. This also means that the cultivation of ‘Excellence Engineer’ has been developed in China gradually.
