ABSTRACT

In other countries, the concept of “microlecture” has already emerged and it was first used by David Penrose of America in the fall of 2008. The term of micro courses do not refer to the micro content in order to develop the micro teaching, but refer to the actual teaching content which on the basis of constructivism for the purpose of online learning or mobile learning. David Penrose called the micro-lecture as “knowledge burst”. In our country, “micro-class” was first proposed by Hu Tiesheng of Foshan Department of Education. From the perspective of Hu Tiesheng: the “micro-class” refers to the record of wonderful teaching and learning activities on the basis of video that emphasize a particular knowledge point or teaching process in the classroom. Micro-class has many functions. It provides learning environment, promotes the change of learning manners, and improves teachers’ ability of developing issues. With the development of Internet and multimedia technology, it has new definition and characteristics.
