In most forms of scientiŠc analysis, a great deal of attention is paid to conditions. Both specimens and equipment are carefully scrutinized before and a¨er use. •e purpose of the attention is to isolate variables in observable (experimental) situations so that a particular statement of cause for an eˆect can be identiŠed.
