ABSTRACT

Many large organizations are integrating core business processes throughout the supply chain by implementing enterprise resource planning systems such as Baan IV, SAP R/3, and Oracle Financials. System users have achieved savings by eliminating many different and often incompatible legacy systems as well as streamlining business processes. Although difficulties have sometimes been encountered during the rigorous enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation process, most problems seem to result from users trying to map a previously ill-behaved system to work within the structure of the ERP system.
