ABSTRACT
Manufacturing processes are changing, becoming intellectually stimulating and challenging rather than physically exhausting. The various advanced technologies used in manufacturing, collectively known as advanced manufacturing technology (AMT), would not have been possible without rapid applications of IT. These computer-based AMTs allow firms to produce a variety of parts and end products of even small volumes by changing the software instead of replacing the hardware.
