ABSTRACT
Electronic commerce — the way businesses will do business in the future. Why use paper when things can be done easier and better without it? Email, EDI, electronic funds transfers, credit card transactions, electronic banking of all kinds, and all the thrills of electronic shopping are becoming available from the comfort of home, office, or car. Finance and banking are now available to even the novice home computer user. Where will it stop and what is in store? Will the Internet change the way we live or just the way we shop? This section looks at where and how electronic commerce is used, and even though many types of electronic commerce payment vehicles exist, it will focus on the credit card because it is currently the best documented.
