ABSTRACT
Traffic police enforcement is a well-known factor in road accident reduction but the policy is costly and there are budget constraints imposed by the government. This study develops a road safety strategy using an optimization modeling approach within the operations management philosophy that increases the impact of police enforcement given the constraints on the traffic police. A case study based on this road safety strategy is analyzed over time to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.
