ABSTRACT

Being the fifth pillar of Islam, Zakat is very important for the humanity to make it balance. At 70 places in the Quran, Allah Almighty commands that Salah and Zakat coexist simultaneously. Theimportance of Zakatin Islam can never be underestimated, so it is best that every wealthy Muslim should fulfill this duty. Pakistan being a Muslim country established several laws to collect the Zakat as there are various banks who deduct Zakat amount automatically from the account if account holder meets the requirement of Zakat. This system has many problems like account holder willingness is not involved and they are not sure whether their amount is being given to deserving people or not. This chapter presents a new idea with the name of information technology-basedFinance Hub that will be established at Union Consul (UC) level under the control of Government of Pakistan. At the beginning, these finance hubs will support the disabled people of respective areas because disability is the most influential parameter for Zakat. The donors who will pay Zakat to the financial hub, and the finance hub will be linked to the banking systems to ensure that their Zakat will not be deducted again by the banks. The transparent process will give the confidence to the Zakat donor such that they will willingly give charity to proposed finance hub; in this way, Zakat amount will reach to the really deserving peoples. These centers can also play a vital role to discourage the increasing mendicant's system in the society.
