ABSTRACT

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as a novel class of functional porous materials have attained more consideration in the various fields since the last decade. Newly, MOFs have become a hot research subject in supercapacitors due to the different morphology, structural diversity, porous structure, plentiful pore, adjustable pore size and high surface area. Nevertheless, the poor conductivity of pristine MOFs is often identified as a limiting parameter in the development of supercapacitor field’s application. To reduce such limitations, the pristine MOF structures used as a template and/or precursor to prepare various MOF-derived nanomaterials and composites. So, in this chapter a broad overview of the supercapacitors application of pristine MOFs, MOF-derived nanomaterials and composites were discussed.
