ABSTRACT
In today’s society, bioinformatics research puts a great emphasis on answering “when,” “what if,” and “why” questions with the help of information system and technology, and some researchers had argued that it could be the key factor in facilitating and attaining an efficient decision-making in medical research. Hence, the main purpose of this chapter is to explore the application of information system in biological world and to study the extent to which technology could bring opportunities as well as challenges in science. Also, this chapter will examine the importance and evolution of bioinformatics over the past decades.
