ABSTRACT

This chapter deals with a design for educating for a world society, that is, a society with a pervading concern for the well-being of all peoples. It presents a plan for preparing individuals and groups for a world community. The long-range planning for global living needs to start with preadolescent children, adults can be integrated into the program. The adults who come to the miniature world as accompanists should be those who have a love for children and who can truly enjoy the activities along with the children. The design for preparation of individuals and groups for a world society is based upon proven principles of learning. International School-to-School Experience (ISSE) sets up partnerships between an elementary school in one country and an elementary school in another country. ISSE is a companion organization to Children's International Summer Villages (CISV). The program of ISSE has grown out of CISV.
