ABSTRACT

Che Guevara’s thought constitutes a rich source of ideas and solutions—socialist formulas for constructing the new society. The relationship between Che’s general conception of the political economy of socialism, his theoretical views on the period of the transition to socialism, and his views on the different systems of economic management has been subjected to the most varied interpretations. In Che’s opinion, the plan embraced material relations as a whole and therefore should combine creating the foundation for the economic development of the new society, as well as for economic regulation and controls, and creating a new type of human relations and a new human being. Che saw cost analysis as the fundamental way of measuring the efficiency of establishments and enterprises. Che’s budgetary finance system recognized the law of value, monetary-commodity relations, and the commodity as such, but only in relations between the state, cooperatives, and individuals and in foreign trade.
