ABSTRACT

Economists have, according to different criteria, classified and outlined strategies for socio-economic development implemented by the developing countries. With regard to the adjustment of development strategies, the first questions that come to the minds of statesmen and scholars in developing countries is what is genuine development, how to define strategic tasks, and how to attain the strategic objectives. The development of South-South cooperation will definitely push forward the struggle for the establishment of a new international economic order, accelerate the implementation of the strategies for economic and social development in the developing countries, and play an increasingly great role. The economic problems and difficulties confronting the developing countries have eventually led to a continuing slow-down of their economic growth rate which began towards the end of the 1970s. The existing international economic order impedes and holds back the smooth implementation of the development strategies of the developing countries.
