ABSTRACT
The most important difference between the 1968 work, Marxism-Leninism on War and Army, and the1977 War and Army is the attention given in the latter to the "external function" ofthe Soviet Armed Forces. With the changes in the relationship of forces in the international areas in favor of socialism the unleashing of world war by imperialism has become an ever more risky and dangerous business for them. The Soviet government and all of the socialist community are waging a consistent struggle against reactionary wars of imperialism, with the help of which it would like to suppress the struggle of peoples for their national and social liberation, to weaken individual links of the world socialist system. The Soviet Union and all the community of socialist states stand on the side of the victims of imperialist aggressors every time. They give them all-round support and aid.
