ABSTRACT
In today’s competitive world, it is mandatory to sustain the quality of the product that the organization delivers to the customer. The present paper addresses the issue of finding the root cause of the casting defect with the help of a cause and effect diagram, quality assurance matrix and other quality control tools. The objective of the paper is to identify the defects using cause and effect diagram and other quality control tools especially casting defects. The preventive measures should be effective enough to achieve the desired quality of the product. The quality system is developed and rejection is reduced after implementing various quality control tools. This process helps to reduce the rejection and increase the sigma level of the gear case casting process.
