ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to understand and analyze the pattern of choice of international tourists in visiting tourist destinations in Yogyakarta. The pattern of choice is generally influenced by various factors that could be divided into two significant factors; internal and external. This study is based on empirical observation. These influential forms become the preference of international tourists in visiting tourist destinations. This research method uses a sample of international tourists visiting Yogyakarta in 2018. This study uses quantitative and descriptive data analysis. The results of this study indicate that the pattern of choice of international tourists in visiting tourist destinations in Yogyakarta is influenced by novelty seeking, particularly the uniqueness of a region, including such elements as panorama, culture, society, and hospitality. The more unique and interesting the reality is seen to be, the more the interest of international tourists to visit Yogyakarta will be increased.
