ABSTRACT

Indonesian industrial estate firms play essential roles in their contribution to national economic development. This article discusses how industrial estate firms could be sustainable in each income condition despite limited tangible resources and difficult business situations. The product-service system (PSS) concept aims to help industrial estate firms’ sustainability within various conditions by changing the bundle of products and services in order to gain new sources of income. To enable the dynamicity of PSSs, firms need to have this dynamic capability. Thus, this article focuses on three case studies to test this proposition. The novelty of this article is its consideration of the implementation of dynamic PSSs at industrial estate firms. This concept is needed since PSSs deal with various conditions and can be made more sustainable. This article not only offers industrial estate firms best practice for sustainability but also helps the government to create and implement supporting policies.
