ABSTRACT
The teaching profession is one of the best for fresh starts. Each September starts with teacher training days where the past year is scrutinised and the new year is mapped out, with changes and improvements being suggested from lessons learnt, new staff welcomed, and new priorities outlined. The students start afresh with an advancement in their year group and a fresh set of challenges. Social classroom etiquette can be discussed based upon the students’ age and understanding. Meeting at the door will also give reader an opportunity to check the staple school necessities of uniform and dress code, earrings, make up etc. The important thing to remember is that the students will be anxious and unsure about how they will be, and this will manifest itself in many silly often childish ways. Their confidence will help with the reassurance.
