ABSTRACT

The academic side of the trip is always quite rightly emphasised nd the learning always transferred back into the classroom, but also watch for any social and emotional skills that a young person demonstrates, including encouragement, support, kindness, initiative and inquisitiveness, and help them recognise how they could use those skills back in the classroom as well. Help them see how they can use the skills not only to help themselves but also their friends. Lesson observations and providing feedback will over time become part of the norm, especially as you progress within your teaching career. This is often a source of discord and frustration with many teachers as they often dislike the process which is in fact meant to help improve their skills.
