ABSTRACT

Plastizicer compound of 1,2-benzene dicarboxylic acid fractionated from methanol extract of leaves of Andrographis paniculata which exhibits an in vitro antiproliferative effect, cell viability, reactive oxygen species, mitochondrial membrane potential and apoptotic pathway on KB, SiHa, IMR-32 cancer cells. The results showed that the plastizcer compound 1,2-benzene dicarboxylic acid has the potentiality to induce membrane blebbing, chromatin condensation, and fragment of nuclear DNA into oligonucleosome-sized DNA fragments. Therefore, the plastizicer compound 1,2-benzene dicarboxylic acid can be used after further experiments studies in therapies to improve the efficacy and decrease the side effects.
