ABSTRACT
Biophytum sensitivum is a traditionally used medicinal plant for the treatment of different ailments including cancer. However, there were no scientific studies on anticancer activity of this plant. Thus, this study focuses anticancer activity of B. sensitivum against HEP G2 (liver cancer cell line). B. sensitivum whole plant extracts possessed cytotoxic activity against HEP G2 cancer cell lines. However, water extract of B. sensitivum showed good cytotoxic effects compared to other extracts. These results support the traditionally used of B. sensitivum as anticancer agent and suggest that they could provide a possible source for the preparation of a new anticancer drug.
