ABSTRACT

Special vehicles are used for special purposes and exceed the design vehicle limit in terms of dimensions, weight, and so on. Its reliability requirement is higher than ordinary vehicles, such as emergency ambulances and fire-fighting trucks. A vehicle durability test is the last part of vehicle reliability tests, which belongs to fields of reliability test, acceptance test, and destructive test. In durability testing, tests cannot be conducted under the normal use frequency and stress level because of very long test time. Therefore, durability testing is carried out by acceleration test. The acceleration coefficient of durability testing is the ratio of damage of parts caused by the cycle load of durability testing in unit time and cumulative damage in practice in unit time. The durability test with acceleration features can shorten the testing time and deduce cost. When conducting the durability test, the running conditions with the maximum damage rate in the traditional test were regarded as the test conditions.
