ABSTRACT

What is the legacy left to the EU by more than ten years of multiple crises? What have been the political consequences of this period? And which framework should be adopted to interpret these aspects? In this introduction the editors of the volume discuss in what sense the crises of recent years were new for the European Union. The framework adopted is that of representation and of the special turn this political process takes in a supranational union. The topics covered in the different chapters are brought together in a common frame which links the national and the supranational levels of representation.
