Fast Rule Generation and Membership Function Optimization for a Fuzzy Diagnosis System

This paper describes a fuzzy rule generation algorithm and a fuzzy membership function optimization algorithm. Both algorithms have been implemented in a fuzzy diagnostic system for the End-of-Line test at automobile assembly plants and the implemented system has been tested extensively and its performance is presented.
