ABSTRACT

This is the first time known to this author that a publication like this has been devoted entirely to the topic of careers, jobs and libraries. This is surprising considering the degree to which most libraries are involved with providing career and job information, let alone the extent and popularity of career and job material. If anything, this publication is long overdue. The information in this publication will provide the ways and means for libraries to maintain, or moreover, to enhance their career and job information services. The ideas, sources and conclusions presented here emphasize the necessity of career and job information services in the 1990s.
