ABSTRACT

Planning a new or a remodeled special library facility can be a very satisfying, exhilarating experience. The creation of a facility that incorporates ideas that a librarian may have wanted to use for years is an exciting event that no one ever forgets. At the same time the experience can be time consuming and frustrating, depending upon circumstances. Most librarians, however, feel that even the hard work and the frustrations are worth it when they view the results of the whole process. The enjoyable aspects outweigh the negative ones.
