ABSTRACT

Occasionally, during the course of building new infrastructures works, some he-ritage pieces are unearthed. Given this situation, and when the finding cannot be properly preserved once excavated it is always needed a documentation process for the resilience of heritage since the discovered pieces are forced to be hidden again, covered by the planned infrastructure. Nowadays, the available technology allows to store a 3D digital copy of the heritage pieces and also gives the opportunity to people to visualize the site with accurate scale and color. In this article, our group (3D-CoViM) presents an example of such case that occurred when refurbishing an old road in Fuente del Maestre (Spain). We carried out the 3D digitalization of the found he-ritage site and also designed Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR) applications.
