ABSTRACT
Allelochemics comprise a vast number of known compounds, and hundreds more yet to be discovered, that mediate behavioral or physiological interactions between organisms of different species. They may benefit the emitter, the receiver, or both. Most are still mainly of scientific interest, but a few (principally attractants or repellents for insect pests) have been incorporated into operational pest management protocols.
