ABSTRACT
Aspects of translating and abstracting technical literature are surveyed, using specific examples to show how a New York-based information service, Engineering Information, Inc. (Ei), accomplishes these tasks. Special emphasis is placed on the requirements and practices of technical translation in various engineering fields covered by Ei’s services.
