ABSTRACT

All qualified architects must maintain membership of the Architect's Registration Board. Architects are expected to, inter alia, be honest and act with integrity; be competent; be trustworthy and look after the clients’ money properly; have appropriate insurance arrangements; maintain the reputation of architects; and cooperate with regulatory requirements and Investigations. The purpose of the RIBA Code of Conduct is to promote professional good conduct and best practice. Members should at all times be guided by its spirit as well as its precise and express terms. Chartered Practices must abide by the Code of Practice. Individual Members must abide by the Code of Professional Conduct. Members must comply with all relevant legal obligations. It is not the remit of the Code to duplicate the provisions of business, employment, health and safety, environmental and discrimination law.
