ABSTRACT

The manuscript is in the Wordsworth Library, Dove Cottage, as MS 1989:161.56. and is a single sheet, mostly occupied with a letter (omitted here) about life insurance addressed to an unidentified ‘Sir’, probably in late 1836. The letter starts half way down the recto, continues on the verso, and must have gone on to at least one further sheet now lost. At the head of the recto is this short list of books, perhaps with library catalogue numbers. The list was therefore almost certainly written in or before 1836.
