[Forgery]

The manuscript is in the library of Worcester College, Oxford, as MS 128, [8]. It consists of two sheets of white paper originally 372 by 227 mm, each folded once to give a pair of geminate leaves each measuring 186 by 227 mm. Folios 1 and 2 form the first pair, ff. 3 and 4 (watermarked ‘J Whatman 1841’) the second. The manuscript is written mainly in blue ink, with occasional passages in black. All versos are blank apart from 2 verso, which carries the conclusion of the footnote on Byron (see below). Japp has made a number of interventions which are ignored here. A version was published in PW I, pp. 125–31.
