ABSTRACT

The first four of letters appear in mis dep. c 526 in the Abinger Collection deposited at the Bodleian Library, Oxford, in a manuscript (not in Godwin's hand) entitled, 'Letters on Political Subjects by the Author of Cursory Stric tures on the charge delivered by Lord Chief Justice Eyre to the Grand Jury, October 2, 1794'. There are nine letters in the manuscript, the first five of which (entitled Letters 1-5) date from the mid 1780s and are reprinted in Volume 1 of this collection. The last four letters, reprinted here, are also entitled Letters 1-4.
