ABSTRACT

A novel patch antenna that mitigates the radiation hazards caused due to the over usage of mobile phones has been proposed here. A study of patch antenna regarding its SAR based on slots and variation in the distance between human head phantom and mobile antenna is taken into consideration. It enhances the bandwidth as well as reduces the SAR much below the safety levels. With this enhanced structure, it helps to reduce the radiation hazards being caused by the usage of mobile phones for a longer time and finds application in GSM, UMTS, DCS, and PCS. The designs are simulated using High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) tool.
