ABSTRACT

Modern high performance materials like conductive ceramics find immense applications ranging from Aerospace to Automobiles, gas turbines to bearing, machining to mining etc. Because of their outstanding capabilities, these materials are difficult to be machined. The electrical discharge machining (EDM) presents itself as a suitable candidate for the machining of these ceramics due to its peculiar material removal mechanism. This paper is a survey of the research works that have gone into electrical discharge machining of the conductive ceramics.
