ABSTRACT

SUMMARY. Automated acquisitions has been a reality at Auburn University for over four years. Staff training and procedures were changed in order to accommodate this reality. Auburn has experienced most of the good points (increased access) and some of the bad points (downtime) of automation. Auburn has been able to overcome most problems and concerns with cooperation from the department and strong support from other libraries using our same automation system. In tum, we have been able to assist newer libraries with their automated acquisitions.
