ABSTRACT

Donald Kunze discussed the planning for a low residency PhD program in architecture at Penn State, in collaboration with his colleagues Loukas Kalisperis and Ute Poerschke.* Kunze affirmed the importance of exercising autonomy in doctoral research and the distinction between theorizing and ‘having a theory.’ He talked about his introduction to philosophy through the work of Ernst Cassirer and Giambattista Vico and discussed his current interests in psychoanalysis.
